This paper provides a historical overview of the development of ethical and moral norms in the Ukrainian military. It then introduces the Russian Theory of Deciding the Invention Problems (TDIP-TRIZ) and the dialectic General Theory of Strong Thinking (GTST-OTSM). These theories are then applied to the problem of ethical training of the military in Ukraine in light of its history. It concludes that no key system function carrier (chaplains & mentors) now exists and that further studies of the problem and the successful solutions in other countries is needed.
