Ethics

ACCTS' Ethics Ministry assists young military and police leaders in the military Christian fellowships (MCFs) of the world as they face ethical issues in their profession. Our goal is to motivate and train young MCF members to learn how to prevent, or recover from, unethical decisions and help other members of their nations' armed forces do likewise. An integral part of developing international Christian leaders is helping them develop their moral character, especially as it pertains to their military service. As young military Christians learn to make just, virtuous, and biblically-based ethical decisions, they will become military leaders who see Jesus as the ultimate Exemplar, following in His footsteps and encouraging others to do the same.

While a professional military ethic will look very different in each country, we believe that young military Christians can lead the way in creating more ethical armed forces in each of their home nations - and it's our goal to help them do so!

ACCTS has developed a variety of resources to help create young military Christians around the world develop into leaders who habitually make ethical decisions. We address issues such as:

  • Integrating faith and profession
  • Cultural effects on ethical decisions
  • Preventative and restorative aspects of ethical decisions
  • Applications of a professional military ethic
  • Moral and spiritual injury
  • Virtue ethics as a secular bridge to Jesus
Some of the resources we offer include ethics-related Bible studies and devotionals, ethics workshops in the US and internationally, international ethics internships, ACCTS’ online “Journal of Faith and War,” and ethics-related social media pages.
